Each week, Hermosa Beach Patch publishes a roundup of local happy hours and drink specials. This time, the focus is on where to grab drinks for a good cause—here are three Hermosa Beach happenings that allow you to do just that:

Raising money for sister cities

has teamed up with the Tri-Beach Sister Cities to raise money for , , and various cultural projects. These programs are organized as a way for the sister cities to enrich each other's communities, between Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Manhattan Beach and their sister cities of , LaPaz and Ensenada, and Santa Rosalia.

To show support between now and Saturday, all Happy Hour-goers need to do is present the accompanying flyer (see under photo) to their server and the sister cities program will receive 20 percent of their purchase, said George Barks, Chairman of the Tri-Beach Sister Cities Committee.

Beer and tequila

South Bay breweries are joining in the annual charity event hosted by the Soroptimist International of Manhattan Beach. The beer tasting will take place at the on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., and benefit the Turkish Women's Initiative as well as a rain water collection project in Rwanda.

Some breweries participating include Strand Brewing, Ballast Point, El Segundo Brewing, Stone Brewing, Ommegang, Nibble Bit Tabby and Hidden Room.

Supporting team spirit

Twenty percent of your bill on drinks and burgers at on Tuesday will support the Mira Costa High School spirit squad, according to the restaurant. The team fundraiser will go on from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Go Mustangs!
