Clean Your Beach During California Coastal Cleanup Day

Join thousands of Californians in cleaning up local parks and beaches on Sept. 15.

Coastal Cleanup Day is an international event with more than 60 countries around the world participating, making it one of the largest volunteer efforts on the planet. 

Last year, over 67,000 volunteers from California removed 676,768 pounds of trash and 115,773 pounds of recyclable waste.

On Saturday, thousands of Californians will again head down to their local beaches and inland waterways for the 28th Coastal Cleanup Day,  on a mission to clear the sand and water of harmful and unsightly pollution.

Cleanups are from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Hermosa Beach cleanup:

Meet at 1201 The Strand. Instructions are to park at the  and walk the few blocks to the cleanup site or speak with staff at check-in about parking next to the pier. 

Manhattan Beach cleanup:

Meet at the Manhattan Beach Pier where Manhattan Beach Boulevard meets the sand and sea.
