Updated: Marla Is Back to Searching for a Home

The 1-year-old shepherd-greyhound mix was close to being adopted by a family who saw her profile on Patch.

Editor's Note: This article was updated at 3:41 p.m. Sunday because the family that adopted Marla had changed its mind.

Marla, a Patch "Pet of the Week," was almost adopted by a local family who saw her profile on sister site . Can you help her find a home?

Marla is a 1-year-old shepherd-greyhound mix who knows lots of tricks—not only will she sit and lie down, but she will also offer her paw to shake or roll over when asked.

A sweet and loving dog with lots of energy, she also loves to play Frisbee.

She would be best in a home with kids older than 12. If her new family has other dogs, they should be bigger dogs that she can play with.

Marla is spayed and up-to-date on all her shots.

Each week Hermosa Beach Patch's "Pet of the Week" column features animals like Marla who are available to adopt.

For more information on Marla and others, call the Lovejoy Foundation at 310-350-0980. The organization holds  every Saturday and Sunday at  on Aviation Boulevard.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "
