Meet Honey and Winston

The puppies are available for adoption.

Honey, a 3-month-old terrier and chihuahua mix, and Winston, a 15-week-old beagle mix, are both sweet and loving puppies who need permanent homes.

Honey won't grow to be too big, but she has a "big dog" feel in her small frame, and she wants to please.

Before arriving at the Lovejoy Foundation, Honey was found abandoned in South Central Los Angeles.

Winston, who will grow to be about 25 to 30 pounds, loves to chase anything and everything that moves. He's very affectionate, and sometimes will howl.

Winston was thrown out of a moving car on a highway on the way to Las Vegas and broke his leg. By the time he arrived at the Lovejoy Foundation, his leg had already set.

Both puppies would do well in a home with older children and other dogs. Because puppies will nip and bite at children's hands, they don't do well in households with children under age 6.

Their new owners would have to be patient, since Honey and Winston are young puppies.

Both puppies are on their way to being fully housebroken and up-to-date on medical care.

For more information on Honey, Winston or any other dogs available to adopt, call the Lovejoy Foundation at 310-350-0980, email the organization or visit its Facebook page.

The Lovejoy Foundation is a Redondo Beach-based organization that holds weekly pet adoptions at  on Aviation Boulevard in Hermosa Beach.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "

Don't sell it until after Wednesday night. I'm going to buy a lottery ticket right now.
