Memorial Service for Jean Lombardo

Lombardo helped launch the Beach Cities Toy Drive, an annual holiday event that provides gift-wrapped toys to children in need.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of former Hermosa Beach Public Works Commissioner Jean Lombardo will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 at 4 p.m. at Journey of Faith Church in Manhattan Beach.

Here's an Easy Reader profile on Lombardo, who was a member of the Hermosa Beach Woman's Club, Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 1999 and was part of the initial group that began the Beach Cities Toy Drive, according to the article.

Lombardo was passionate about the arts and in lieu of flowers, family members ask that donations be made to the Jean Lombardo Music Scholarship at the Hermosa Beach Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 43, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.

Lombardo is survived by her husband Tony, two children, Nicki and Tony Jr., and three grandchildren, Taylor, 22, Caitlyn, 19 and Dylan, 13.
