Voters in the end favored newcomers, as all three new council members have not served before.

“It hurts for sure (to lose) but, at the end of the day, I had four years I was able to serve,” Duclos said, according to the Daily Breeze. “I stand behind every vote I cast. I’m pleased with what I did, I just had hoped to do more. My commitment to community service is not going to go away, it will just take another form.”

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk plans to certify the results on Nov. 25.
